A Wonderful World is back and going on Tour! Dedicated to showcasing work by worldwide artists designed for a multicultural 21st-century audience, A Wonderful World is a musical about the life, times, and music of jazz legend Louis Armstrong. Featuring the songs of the pioneering trumpet player, the production has an original book by This Is Us screenwriter Aurin Squire, as well as direction from Tony nominee Christopher Renshaw.
Told from the perspectives of the women in his life, A Wonderful World chronicles Armstrong's journey from the genesis of trad jazz in his home city of New Orleans to mainstream recognition, punctuated by the poignant history of the civil rights movement and America's complicated relationship with race relations.

It's a wonderful world
I Lovvvvved this show. This is a must see whenever it comes back to the Cadillac Theater.
I thinks it a great night out for my sisters and friends.
I can't wait until it returns. I'll be there front and center.

Louis Armstrong was a complicated person. A musician who became a world wide persona who was as complicated as one can be. This production is a marvelous presentation of the poignancy and the presentation of his life. Seen through the most prominent of his wives, and alluding to the many other women in his life, they provided their impressions of him. That he was a frequent guest in jail, or was at Tiffany buying the latest bauble for his women, he was literally bigger than life itself. The actors were splendid, the music was enthralling, the sets and costumes were perfect for the eras that were portrayed. Yet, there as a poignancy about the production that can bring one to tears, especially the civil rights movement and the way he was discarded for a period of time, as well as the ending of his life. It was both exhilarating and at the same time makes one feel the true essence of a remarkable man. ... Read more
