GEORGE BENSON @ RYMAN AUDITORIUM, NASHVILLE TN. 5/19/19

This was a birthday present to myself to finally get to see George Benson. I must say he put on one heck of a show. The sound was amazing. His sound was timeless. His voice is just as amazing as on his earlier albums. He is truly a showman and his band was awesome. The young Lady conga player had the most beautiful voice as well.

GEORGE BENSON. CAIN PARK. AUGUST 2023

George and band were awesome. Very enjoyable evening. You still got it George!! Cain park is a great venue. What I was disappointed in was parking especially handicapped. Also people coming late to concert. Rude to performer and people watching the show. Please plan to arrive early or at least on time so it’s a great experience for everyone.

AT THE SABAN ON 3/4

George still sounds great and the band was exceptional the only thing wrong is that he did not sing 'This Masquerade'. We were all waiting for it. I was hoping for this song as well as "The greatest Love of all " and "Nature Boy", but nothing. Disappointing because of these important omissions. Only 4 stars instead of 5.

80 YEARS TAKEN ITS TOLL

Show at Chicago's Ravinia Park last night was unbelievably bad. George played guitar very little with no real improvisation, just a rote reading of the original recorded solos.. Band was sloppy and sound mix indistinct and unintelligible. Sadly, early in the show Mr. Benson took off his jacket replacing it with a sweater that he buttoned up crookedly. Handlers took him off stage while a female percussionist screeched out a song. 80 years have certainly taken their toll on this once profound Jazz musician.
