ARW AT THE ROSE IN HUBER HEIGHTS, OH, 9/9/18

This was their last show of this tour, and man did they do a fine job.... The sound was great! The musicians were phenomenal- Jon is 72 and sounded like he was much younger.... They had videos that reflected their playing, especially on solos.... Great introductions by Jon... They played a version of And You and I that was tremendous! Played lots of 80's material. Rick did a great solo introducing Awaken. Glad I got to see the show, may never see these guys ever again... I think this Yes is better than Steve Howe's Yes. The Rose was very organized... They will scan you so don't bring any pocket knives or any excess baggage. I smelled pot at one point so careful bringing you kids or mom.

UNLIKE MANY OF THESE REVIEWS I WAS ACTUALLY THERE FOR BOSTON

So, how about this: I was actually AT the Boston show, unlike most of these reviewers/trolls. Almost full house (10-15 balcony seats left) and great view/sound. I can't help but notice this band actually PUSHES itself. Howe finds new ways to play old material. Sherwood clearly learned a thing or two about carrying a song from Squire, and overall the band was clearly having fun. I saw them a year ago, and if you don't count the encores they only repeated two songs in the setlist from the prior tour - A phenomenal treat to any fan, and much unlike other bands who just play the same hits over and over...including the Anderson led version. I understand why this band had Squire's blessing. I brought friends who'd never seen them - They loved it. A minor detail: Sherwood & Howe definitely had a grittier tone this time around. Most welcome, especially on Close to the Edge, Awaken, and Parallels. And - good to see Alan White for 4 songs, he played well. Shame if it's his last round.

YES PITTSBURGH

I'm blown away at the negative reviews (Steve Howe yes)i that it was fantastic. But that's just me. When I saw ARW I thought Anderson and wakeman we're very strong but with so much of the show 70s yes Rabin just not right on the steve Howe stuff. Bass and drummer felt very much like sidemen. Billy Sherwood was in such a zone! Great. Jay schellen awesome. Anyone agree with me?

Anderson still hits the notes with flawless delivery wakeman is flawless bass player extraordinaire great drummer Rabin i knew was great but god he is an absolute monster guitar player exceeded expectations after all he is replacing the great steve howe he is more of a rocker to howes more ethereal sound but i have to say i felt lucky to see this rare talent playing his tail off first time seeing him as part of yes nice touch when wakeman and rabin walked the aisles playing concert was pure joy with some magical pinch me moments stage was a bit bare by past yes shows but who cares?

We thought the Jon Anderson concert in Pittsburgh was great. Very entertaining and great mix of old and new songs. Jon's voice is still great and he obviously has a great time on stage.

YES AT THE ARENA THEATER

Awesome 2800 seat in the round venue. Sound and visuals were first class. Don't believe the nay sayers! Yes was tight and sounded like the real deal. If you are a Yes fan I would highly recommend you see them.

YES WAS BETTER THAN EVER!!

This latest incarnation of YES was really quite good. Of course no Chris Squire or Alan White but the players who have taken over their respective spots were really good. Steve Howe, at his advanced age, is at the top of his game. He was better than he has ever been and that is saying a lot. Jon Davison, the replacement for Jon Anderson, has a better range and voice that Anderson. Davison's voice is rich with overtones and a pleasure to hear. All in all, it was really a great 2 hours.

YES STILL ROCKS

We were at first skeptical but as the show went on we were pleasantly surprised at the great sound and well engineered show here in the newly improved raceway amplitheater Although the band has changed over the years they have managed to maintain that same plateau that has enabled them to be inducted into the rock hall of fame. Opening with old faves Close to the Edge and Parallels they have us a unique blend of deeper cuts and then bringing out the faves like Heart of the Sunrise .. after a short break the second set continued and then they brought out a couple of older but original guys to sit in including Alan white (drums) and tony keye (keys) Then they have the crowd what they wanted with Yours Is No DisgracAnd Roundabout and then finally Starship Trooper. Who else can say they have kept a band together for fifty years Gratis to Steve Howe who did a stellar job on leadin guitar and just being the leader again Even if some of the other guys weren’t originally from

YES - PENNS PEAK

Tough crowd here. This is a band that is still around, in whatever form from the '60's, how many can say that. Steve Howe - phenomenal. Overall it was great. As far as the venue, the sound is a little dead at the seats under the floor above. Other than that beautiful location.

Hi was at the richmond show and thought it was ok. Not as good as the National years ago. Unfortunately during the first set could not.even hear Howes guitar riffs due to overplay of the bassist.disapointing. nice to see Steve talking after Chris' departure.

IN RESPONSE TO JOHN FROM BOSTON

In respectful response to John from Boston, most of us weren't reviewing the Boston show. We were reviewing the DETROIT show, so I'm not sure why you would bring up that you were ACTUALLY AT the Boston show and that the rest of us were reviewer/trolls. We were ACTUALLY AT THE DETROIT SHOW, and the main floor was about 25% empty. I liked the different song choices, which I listed as a positive in my review. It pains me to not give YES a full five stars, but from what I heard during the concert, the chatter after the concert, and the reviews on this list, they just didn't earn it. I'm not "trolling" a band that I've followed for almost 50 years. I'm just giving you my honest opinion. Sorry.

I CAME FOR THE NOSTOLGIA

I have been a fan of the band since discovering Jon Anderson on King Crimson's LIZARD album. I've been to many, many concerts. YES has been my favorite band since THE YES ALBUM. I count myself lucky to have had a "favorite band" to follow for all these years. But, I haven't gone to many of the band's recent tours, because they were starting to embarrass me. Sadly, old age had taken its toll. Last year, I went to see ARW, and I was THRILLED with the performance! So, when this 50th anniversary tour came up, I decided to take a chance. It wasn't anywhere near the best of concerts, but it wasn't the worst YES concert. My more positive review reflects the choice of songs they played, (there were some pleasant surprises), several of the songs sounded strong, and I loved the stage set-up. (I can understand why someone would consider that last point irrelevant.) Jon and Billy may have been the strongest performers out there, which is kind of sad. That's probably the last concert for me...

I saw my first Yes show in 1972 on the CTTE tour and it remains one of the most memorable concerts of my life. Last night's Yes ft.ARW, not so much. Jon Anderson ,at 74, is still in good form vocally and is amusing to watch as he zooms about the stage in slo-mo. Rick Wakeman,despite his cape,seemed less wizardly at his keyboards, and the sound system certainly didn't help his cause. He seemed bored with the whole show. Rabin was Rabin. Not a real fan of where he took Yes,and for a 50th anniversary tour,the set list seemed heavily weighted towards whatever it is one calls his Yes style. The real standout in this Yes review was bassist Lee Pomeroy who seemed genuinely pleased to be on stage compared to Mrs. Wakeman and Rabin. His solo on Heart of the Sunrise was actually the highlight of the show. And then there was Awaken. Was that title ironic? I left when Jon plugged in his little harp and started wafting towards Rick. Think it's time the name is retired.

Awful! I’m an intermediate long time guitar player and Howe totally disappointed. He looked pissed and was no fun. Played 15 songs, 4 oldies. That’s it. Play to your audience Steve. Singer, bass player, young drummer and keyboards kept us from leaving. They were better than Howe. Felt bad for White last few songs. He should hang it up. Very disappointed. Save your money, don’t go.

NOT FOR YES FANS

Terrible sound. Slightly better for the second half. If you're expecting YES magic you won't find it here. As a huge YES fan since the 70's, this concert was just sad. The biggest disappointment was, as usual, Geoff Downs. He simply will not or can not learn the Wakeman parts. Surrounded by $50,000 of equipment, I didn't hear one decent sound. The keyboard player in my band can play rings around this guy. Jon Davidsons vocals were as close to Andersons as one might get. Billy Sherwood played well...those are big shoes to fill. The tour drummer was excellent however Alan White, just after back surgery, played the last few songs...should have stayed home and rested. Just can't recommend this tour. Steve Howe can't pull it off alone. Perhaps the Anderson, Rabin and Wakeman version of YES has some surprizes.

90 minutes in and no hits, sorry but for 50 Year nostalgic concert, you played what you wanted, not what the crowd wanted to hear. So disappointed, left early and played Spotify YES on the way home

1st half was a long and poor quality of sounds with absolutely no way of hearing the lyrics. 2nd half slightly better with return of 2 original members that quieted things down & gave you a sense of music rather than muddied loud noise. Sorry Yes. I was really looking forward to this.

VERY DISAPPOINTING IN SEATTLE

Both my brother and have been YES fans for years and this concert was a major disappointment. The sound quality was poor and the band lacked passion, energy and even talent. This concert was NOT a YES concert.

This band (in the name of Yes) needs to stop touring. This was worse than going to see a tribute band. At least with a tribute band, everyone understands /accepts what their getting. With the exception of Steve Howe, the rest of the band members had nothing to do with the creation, development, and influence over the music this band is credited for in the 60s, 70s and early 80s. A complete rip-off.

NOT GOOD.

This was not Yes. This was Steve Howe playing what he wanted to play regardless of what the paying customer would likely want to hear. Sound mix was extremely poor. Bass and keyboard players were both good. But frankly I have heard a few bar bands play Yes better. Obviously, these were older players that have lost more than a step. Disappointing as I have seen a number of 70s bands that were as good or better they were back when. I suspect this tour was economically motivated because it sure wasn't for the art.

Really disappointing - Off beat, out of tune and a bit sad. Love to attend 4+ concerts at the winery each season and always have a good time - regardless of the "music."

No, Jon Anderson is no longer with them and has not been for years. Jon Davison is an average replacement, at best; no Alan until the end (Jay Schellen is primary drummer), no Rabin/Wakeman - this is Howe/Downes and Billy Sherwood. Replacement-level band.

Seen them in Mobile 10/13. One of worst shows ever. Should have known better. Did like to hear few songs by Howe, but in end couldn't take it anymore and left after 45 minutes. Save your money and time. Was great band in 70s. Some people just don't know when to quit, or maybe stop ripping people off.
